Every few weeks our LDS (Mormon) Ward (Congregation) receives an assignment to work at the LDS Welfare Cannery in nearby Lindon, Utah. Our assignment this time was to clean the production line, which had run all day with several other volunteer crews to produce canned pork and beans for the needy. We had a good time, although by 9 pm we were too tired to go to our normal Friday night movie! It is an honor and a privilege to support the LDS Welfare Program. If all churches had similar programs, the need for public welfare would be reduced significantly. If you are curious about the Mormon welfare program, just google it for more information.
